Today I saw a man wearing a Kippah, driving a car with a bumper w/Trump stickers and I have never been more ashamed to be a Jew.
I looked at him at the stop light and shook my head side to side and mouthed "FOR SHAME"
Locking kids in camps, like our own people? NO. Fuck that.
Ironically, he pulled into the lot at the synagogue we were considering switching to and, dead serious, I decided on the spot to not join. I cannot support a congregation that thinks Trump's policies are acceptable.
THIS IS NOT FUCKING OK.
If you are a Jew and you still think it is ok to support an administration that is literally mimicking Hitler's actions against OUR OWN PEOPLE (although not gas chambers, yet), you are disgusting.
I am a Jew. My grandmothers survived camps. YOU CANNOT SUPPORT HIM.
1. It is 100% true. Hitler didn't rise in a day. It took months, years even, or eroding democratic norms. It wasn't an avalanche. It was a drip, drip, drip.
We are seeing this here, clearly.
2. Trump is following the Hitler playbook. It is horrifying to see. He is scapegoating groups, actively subverting our trust in the press, setting up systems to tear away children from families, messing with our economy and railroading politicians into backing him at all cost.
