Whenever you hear someone talk about new drugs & "stronger" immune response, there are a few things you need to consider.

Don't buy into the hype.

Let me explain. Image For the most part, "immune response" is measured by antibody titre against a specific antigen.

Thus, when the above article makes a claim about a "better response"...what they are saying is:

Our product produced HIGHER levels of antibody against the tested antigen. Image

In 2021, I warned people that the mechanism by which the covid vaccines work could lead to autoimmune reactions.

At the time, people were just concerned about myocarditis.

But, there is no reason why it couldn't impact other parts of the body.

Let's dive in... Image First, we should address HOW they cause autoimmune reactions.

The nature of our immune system in combination with the delivery method of the mRNA-lipid nanoparticles are the key.

A brief excerpt from an article I wrote describes the steps.

The final step is critical: Image

✍️ The Problem with Gene-based Injections

Mask mandates are already well underway, and will soon result in coercive vaccinations.

But, if you didn't catch it the first time around...let's review why you should NOT comply.

🧵 Image The cellular environment is incredibly complex and dynamic. It is arrogant to think we can interfere, with little consequence.

I wrote about long-term health consequences, that are now being addressed .

To understand the concerns, I take a first principle approach. Image

Everywhere we look, we keep hearing about rising rates of illness, excess mortality, "turbo" cancer, and chronic disease.

But, why?

Several factors likely contribute, including the impact of changes implemented over the last few years.

It is certainly true that many of the recent changes to our living circumstances will have negative impact on our health and contribute to rising rates of illness.

However, many hesitate to put any blame on the covid jabs...since it was administered to anyone with a pulse.

Why statins or lipid lowering drugs are attacking the body rather than solving the problem:

Atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease are due to TWO complementary phenomena:

1) Elements of your life (many in your control) are damaging your arteries, leading to inflammation. 2) Your body is responding by repair.

In the process it lays down some fat.

Necessary to healing, because we are made of fat and protein.

Every function tissue from:

Static non-regenerative brain

Constantly replenished flowing blood

Has fat in it.

Critical for repair.

Top Tip:

If you are ever concerned about a treatment option, one of my favorite statistics is...

NNT = Number-needed-to-treat

The NNT tells us how many people need to receive this treatment, for just ONE person to achieve the desired outcome... For example:

The NNT high blood pressure to prevent 1 death = 125 people for 5 years!

Meaning: you need to treat 125 people with prescription drugs for 5 years to prevent 1 death.

But there's more.

The often ignored cousin of NNT

NNH = Number-needed-to-harm

Viscosity is probably one of the greatest contributors to atherosclerotic disease.

Think of widespread inflammation as making endothelium more sensitive to disruption. It has a tendency to remodel.

Increased viscosity has an impact on the friction between blood and... ...the vessel wall.

This is due to a parameter called wall sheer stress.

As the wall of the vessel exerts friction on the blood moving along it, the blood also exerts a force on the endothelium.

This layer is alive, it's not a static structure.

It remodels in response.

The entire covid saga has resulted in a lot of negativity towards modern medicine.

I am guilty of this myself.

Let's take a moment to appreciate some truly amazing advances within the field.

Today, let us appreciate blood vessel imaging. Image Looking at blood vessels is very different than looking at simple spatial imaging of a (seemingly) static organ.

On static 2D imaging, a blood vessel is a rather mundane (left). A simple 'flow void,' or dense on CT.

Blood vessels matter because of where they go (right). ImageImage

What makes allopathic medicine (MD) different from most 'alternative' medicine?

MDs often (not always) come to management decisions on the basis that the body is wrong, and it needs to be intervened on. Be corrected.

Most popular alternative medicines take a different approach. IMO, the over-riding motifs within alternative practices of medicine are:

-we are not giving the body something it needs
-we are doing something wrong to our body
-both of the above, but to the mind
-and don't forget the soul

This is very different than MDs

🧵 Heartburn & Reflux

Beyond what is taught in medical school, and definitely more than what your doctor told you.

Everything you need to know about the underlying cause, patho-mechanisms, and approaches to healing. Heartburn is one of the most common complaints in the clinic.

Despite the widespread use of Proton-pump inhibitors (PPI) and antacids, it continues to rise.

Rising in tandem with increasing rates of metabolic and cardiovascular dysfunction.

Why is that?

It's been over a year since I started this account, and it occurred to me that most are not familiar with the series of events which gave rise to this project - Remnant MD.

My journey started before 2020, but it was the events surrounding covid that tipped me over the edge... Prior to 2020, I was on the typical path of an academic physician:

1. Serving the Department's needs
2. Publishing academic literature
3. Presenting at conferences
4. Taking an active role in the education of trainees and students

For over a year now, I have abandoned academic publishing and put all of my creative work on Substack for the world to see.

The following thread compiles the most well received of my long-form writing since this journey began. Most people believe that Pfizer holds the record for largest criminal fine at just over $2 Billion.

What you may not know is that, since 2000, the total fines levied against pharmaceutical manufacturers & distributors is over $128 Billion.

Melatonin for Treatment of Heartburn/GERD

64 year female replaced PPI with:

1. Melatonin 6mg
2. 5-HT 100mg
3. Methionine 500mg
4. Betaine 100mg
5. L-Taurine 50mg
6. Vit B2 1.7mg
7. B6 0.8mg
8. B9 400microg
9. Ca2+ 50mg

What happened? After 40 days, the proton pump inhibitor (PPI) was withdrawn without ANY symptoms.

Afterwards, reducing melatonin dose from 6mg to 3mg resulted in some symptoms.

However, withdrawal of all other ingredients resulted in minimal symptoms during 10 months of follow-up.

The Hippocratic Oath | Because Y'all Forgot

I swear by Apollo the physician, and Aesculapius the surgeon, likewise Hygeia and Panacea, and call all the gods and goddesses to witness, that I will observe and keep this underwritten oath, to the utmost of my power and judgment. I will reverence my master who taught me the art.

Equally with my parents, will I allow him things necessary for his support, and will consider his sons as brothers.

One of the lesser known side-effects of Statins (cholesterol lowering drug), is the propensity for cognitive dysfunction.

Many people have described vague symptoms which are fundamentally neurological in nature.

But, is there truth to this?

Let's find out... Before we dig into some interesting findings, we must ask ourselves

"Is this biologically plausible?"

Put another way:

"how could lowering cholesterol impair neurological function?"

First, we need to address the elephants in the room...

Cardiovascular disease is believed to be caused by:

1. High blood pressure
2. High cholesterol
3. Clotting of blood
4. Smoking, coffee, alcohol and drugs
5. Obesity

Infectious disease is merely the observation that a disturbance of physiologic balance (homeostasis) is communicable.

Between cells, organs and organisms.

We have reduced this complexity to "microorganism" as the causative agent of contagion.

History teaches us this is false. Example 1:

✍️ Fasting, Autophagy, and Chronic Disease

There are many popular diet & lifestyle habits these days, and several of them incorporate fasting:

• Intermittent Fasting
• Time-restricted Feeding
• 24-48 hour Fasts

Let's talk about the physiology of fasting... When I was young, I did not understand why people would undergo prolonged periods of starvation - whether religious or not.

But, over time I have come to understand and appreciate the role of fasting in improving and maintaining my health.

First, some fundamentals:
