THREAD: Six months ago today, a violent mob, emboldened by a then-sitting President who lied about the results of a lawful election, launched a violet insurrection at the U.S. Capitol–the citadel of democracy.
We will never forget or cease to honor the heroism of the U.S. Capitol Police officers who bravely defended the Capitol from the violence and bloodshed. We also grieve the tragic loss of life, and offer support to those experiencing ongoing trauma as a result of that day.
