Despite the allegations that progressives "can't get stuff done," the full house passed my Bipartisan Abandoned Wells Research and Remediation Act.

Let's break down what the problem is, and what this bill would do to fix it. (1/🧵) Across the country, there are around 3 million abandoned oil and gas wells in urgent need of
remediation or plugging.

In Pennsylvania, there are well over 350,000 abandoned wells, but only 27,000 of these have been identified and documented in order to be plugged.

Where I grew up in the Mon Valley, our air is so dirty we have some of the worst pollution in the country causing childhood asthma, emphysema & COPD
