@NadraPak helped identify total tax gap of PKR 1.5 Trillion in 2022 and calculated 43 million individuals who should be paying direct income tax. This should be our goal -if we want every eligible #Pakistani in tax net.

From an ambitious target of PKR 1.5 Trillion, the feasible goal should be to start tax collection from 11.97 million individuals who owe PKR 35,000 and above in direct taxes - this would result in PKR 526 billion / 2

It’s sad to see that recent flash floods in #Pakistan due to unprecedented rains opened flood gates of political polarization instead of citizen-centric emergency response. This thread is to share my personal experience as team member that handled worst disaster: 2010 floods 1/8 More than 20 Million people were effected. President, Prime Minister, COAS, Chairman NADRA, Chairman NDMA, CMs with key civil servants brainstormed a disaster management strategy called RRR with 3 simple components:
