Last March, Michele and dozens of others gathered at the Mississippi River in Grand Rapids, MN to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the largest oil spill in US history from the old Line 3.
"Cops in Minnesota tortured me while I was protesting Line 3. The torture method the officers used is called “pain compliance” and is nothing but brutalization at the hands of the state to try to stop protestors from continuing to exercise their rights."
"Defending the water and Mother Earth is neither criminal nor violent. I got involved in the movement to stop Line 3, because I am of the Bitterwater clan in my community, it is my obligation as a Tódích'íí'nii clan member to protect and defend my relatives, such as the Water."

While boring through the Mississippi River headwaters, @Enbridge spilled large quantities of drilling mud and industrial chemicals into the ecosystem. Months later, heavy rains are revealing the extent of the ecological devastation caused by the company’s negligence. 
Line 3 is a pipeline that crosses 200+ bodies of water and treaty land in northern Minnesota. It's set to carry over half a million barrels of tar sands oil per day from Alberta, Canada through ND, MN, and WI, before being shipped across the country. (2/9)
@mndnr Plaintiffs are claiming that the DNR violated the rights of manoomin as well as multiple treaty rights to hunt, fish and gather along Line 3's route.

On March 15th, actress & climate activist @Janefonda joined Indigenous leaders on the frontlines to bring attention to the #StopLine3 fight.
On March 3rd, 1991, a huge rupture in the Line 3 pipeline near Grand Rapids, Minnesota caused oil to shoot over 50 feet into the air. It soaked trees, saturated the surrounding wetlands, and coated icy rivers.
On February 24th, @Giniw led an action where water protectors blockaded over a dozen Line 3 worksites. They locked down to a flipped-over vehicle, and ascended 35 ft into the air on a bi-pod. (1/8)
