We are now hearing from @KeeleyMP who opens by saying that the Mental Health Act as it currently stands is not working. She goes on to tell the story of a man called Matthew took his own life who was detained under the Act. She goes on to talk about the different failures in his care e.g. abuse on the ward, lack of care planning

We now hear from @KevanJonesMP about the need to reduce the number of detentions under the Mental Health Act. He welcomes the Independent Review - 'it is important to recognise that things have changed... our attitudes over the last few years have changed' @KevanJonesMP He adds that Georgi's story raised by @JohnnyMercerUK is important, as it shows how when we put people at the heart of their treatment, the Act can work.
