The crux of the NatSec law: In order for it totally subdue HK it will need to imprison a lot of people, not just a few like CCP lackeys are predicting. Imprisoning a few key, often out-of-touch ‘chickens’, is not going to deter the black clad ‘monkeys’ on the street. (Thread) Almost none of the big names believe in HK independence. HKI is a totally grassroots movement with no leaders. So, the message the average kid is going to get when they put Jimmy Lai or Martin Lee away for 10 years is to reinforce their desire for independence.
