In 2024, I read and analyzed almost 1,000 expert interviews (Former employees, Suppliers, Customers). What I missed was a GenAI tool that would help me.
And now it's here. The ChatGPT for Expert interviews & filings!
Here is what it says about $AMZN, $NVDA, $META, $GOOGL:
👇 1/ Alphasense just released a new GenAI Search feature that analyzes and reviews its vast library of over 300M documents. I can now use GenAI to review company filings and expert interviews.
Here are some of the answers I got on questions around $NVDA, $AMZN, $META & $GOOGL:

- It’s remarkable how fast $META has been able to overcome $AAPL privacy change because of its vast database… https://t.co/8hAxWpkor8twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
This interview is one of the most interesting ones!
If you like this kind of content, I would appreciate a like, RT of the first tweet. Also, feel free to follow me as I will continue to share more interviews like this.

I decided to make a🧵of the most insightful interviews on companies/industries. From former employees, customers, competitors & other industry insiders.
Today's 🧵is all about $GOOGL (Search, YT, AI, GCP)
Here are the best expert interviews for $GOOGL so far this year:
1/ Former Group Head at $GOOGL (8 years) Cloud & AI at Google Research thinks Google could have launched ChatGPT-like tech 2 years ago. Says public AI cloud spend today is $10B and sees it at $100B in the future.
I decided to make 🧵of the most insightful interviews on companies or industries. From former employees, customers, competitors & other industry insiders.
Today's🧵is about $AMZN (AWS, e-comm, ad, logistics...).
Here are the best expert interviews for $AMZN this year:
1/ Current Head of AI/ML Strategy at $SNOW & a former $AMZN - AWS employee for 5 years thinks cloud growth/client cost optimization is a one-time thing. Only 5% of cloud spending is AI right now.
My views on $AMZN's AWS unit given the recent earnings.
AWS reported net sales of $21.4B for Q1 up 16% YoY. AWS now runs at an annualized sales run rate of $85B.
But what later spooked investors was the guidance: the April data for the revenue growth rate was about 500 basis..
points lower than the one in Q1.
Jassy explained that the clients are saying they are "cost optimizing" and not cost-cutting optimizing to reallocate those resources on new customer experiences.

- Family DAU 3.02B up 5% YoY

From the headline numbers:
- User growth, which continues to surprise, given already the big user base of $META.
- Revenue growth (analyst expected revenue decline for the Q).
-Operating margin improved after two quarters and raised again to 25% from the 20% range.

Here is my short summary of $SNAP's earnings and what it could mean for other companies in the ad industry like $META, $GOOGL & $PINS.
👇
1) $SNAP's number for the quarter in terms of revenue and earnings was more or less in line with expectations so nothing significant there.
But the things that were negative were the following: ARPU and Q4 guidance.

1/15 Here are some key findings from $META's latest earnings call.
Summary:
- Users continue to grow (specially DAUs)
- Cost control is in full focus
- Push for AI & Reels
- Guidance is light because of macro headwinds
👇
2/15 Despite all the negativity, $META continues to grow its user base. Family Monthly active users are up 4% YoY to 3.65B people. Even DAUs for Facebook grew over 3% YoY to a record 1.968B people, which was above my expectations.

1/14 An earnings recap thread on the most important things from the $PINS earnings call and report.
In general, the earnings showed stabilization of user base, progress in monetization, and resilience despite macro headwinds.
Here are some of the key takes
👇
2/14 $PINS reported Q2 revenue of $666M, up 9% YoY. Global MAU decreased 5% YoY to 433M. GAAP net loss was $43M.

Big week for earnings for my portfolio and general + macro data.
$AMZN, $META, $AAPL, $MSFT, $GOOG all reporting this week.
Here are some of the things investors should be looking out for when these names report:
👇
1) $AMZN
Brutally honest retail is not really important right now. It's all about AWS. Investors should watch out if AWS can continue its high growth despite macro softness. At the same time, it will also be key for investors to see AWS at the same growth rates as $MSFT Azure.

1) Went through $FB/ $META earnings and the call. The quarter and the guidance were not good, but the 23% selloff in the stock is a big exaggeration IMO.
$FB went from 20x to now 17x P/E, which is ridiculous.
2) Main takes:
- The users and the user growth is still there, but they are still in the phases of building out monetization to compensate for iOS change (like every ad app out there - the playing field is the same for everybody)
- TikTok is a big competitor, but...

Some investing lessons I learned over the years. While they might seem simple, I also find myself having to go back to them as the basics.
👇👇 (THREAD)
1. There are no bargains
When starting my career, I read many value investing books where the best opportunities to buy stocks were at bargain prices. While this sounds nice most of the time, if a stock is down, it is down for a reason, and in a lot of cases, it keeps going down

For all the new investors that follow me, a short explanation of what is going on with the market and all the talk about rising interest rates
👇 THREAD
1/ Ok, so why does the rising of the yield on the US 10-year bond affect stocks? And why are growth stocks taking the biggest beat?
When analysts and professional investors model companies, they normally look at the projected earnings/revenue/cash flow of a company/stock...
