How much of Pakistan is underwater right now: 75%
Global emissions Pakistan is responsible for since 1959: 0.49%
Point. Four. Nine. Percent. Not even half a percent. And you thank the Queen for a paltry Instagram post.
Pakistanis will always give. It’s what years of no social security will teach you. We are trained to rely on non state enterprises. So I’m not calling on any of us to give back because I don’t need to. Who I am looking at are the people of the Global North.

I was walking to my house - not 100 yards away - when this man on a motorcycle rode up next to me, made a kissing sound, and grabbed my ass. He then sped off, turned around and waved. I make this walk all the time. This is my home. (Thread)
NOTHING will happen to him. And he’s robbed me of my sense of safety in my neighborhood. He will chuckle about this to himself. He might do worse to someone later. The night is still young.

I went with @Benazir_Shah, @NaxarUlIslam and @adnansiddiqi to APS two days after the attack for @NewsweekPak. There were many foreign correspondents there and the scene had been left as it was. Blood congealed on steps leading up to the auditorium, I will never forget the smell.
Reporters loitered around the area, scribbling notes and speaking in muted voices. You could hear cameras clicking, a part of the school light up for a quick flash every now and then. One reporter was recording his spot, DSNG parked near him.
