1/4 @Morning_Joe Your disrespect to school staff this morning is beyond disappointing. I am a school nurse, come visit what is happening in school buildings before you make sweeping accusations about "teachers walking out on kids." The @CDCgov updates are as clear as mud.
2/4 It is clear our nation's kids belong in school but have we done what was needed to keep EVERYONE safe? Let's follow the $$, many districts have added layers of administration roles, not centering health services or mitigation strategies. That's the real story.

1/How I am spending my one precious Saturday evening? Writing a letter to our superintendent and school board to provide the staffing & support school nurses need to do our job. There are too many of us resigning in despair.
2/We need HELP, if you are a parent support your school nurses. Please, don't curse us out, refuse to follow public health guidelines, send your children to school sick or pending COVID tests. Please answer the contact tracing questions.

1) Years ago, anthropologist Margaret Mead was asked by a student what she considered to be the first sign of civilization in a culture. The student expected Mead to talk about fishhooks or clay pots or grinding stones. 2) "But no. Mead said that the first sign of civilization in an ancient culture was a femur (thighbone) that had been broken and then healed. Mead explained that in the animal kingdom if you break your leg, you die.
