I was assaulted by a pt at work. PD was called. Asked if I wanted to press charges. Said nothing will happen. Got eyeroll by PD. Pressed charges. Guess what? Maricopa Cnty Attny Gen send me a letter stating they WILL NOT PROCEED WITH THE CASE. Just as I said: NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. Assault of a Healthcare Worker is supposed to be a FELONY. Apparently NOT in Maricopa County, AZ...

Got my LPN license in '97, my RN license in '98. Worked Couplet Care, Nursery, LTAC, Women's Surgical, PICU, Peds ER for 23 yrs combined. COVID took all that away when they took my Peds ER to be a Covid ICU. Now I work Adult ER & rarely have a Peds pt. I miss my Peds pts. I do enjoy caring for all pts but it's a thankless job caring for adults. Most are mean, demanding, nasty & wholly unthankful for the care I give. And I give EXCELLENT care. I miss my grateful Peds pts/families. I go home feeling defeated every shift anymore, no matter how I try.
