The official invitation for the Coronation of The King and The Queen Consort has been revealed.

Designed by Andrew Jamieson, the invitation features the Green Man, an ancient figure from British folklore, symbolic of spring and rebirth, to celebrate the new reign.

1/7 The design also includes the floral emblems of the UK, a British wildflower meadow and wildlife, alongside both Their Majesties’ coats of arms.

Today in Cyprus, The Countess of Wessex met Women, Peace and Security action groups at @H4Cooperation in the Nicosia buffer zone.

The Countess has long supported the UN’s WPS agenda, which aims to put more women at the centre of conflict resolution - bit.ly/3Qo1F0U At the event, Her Royal Highness caught up with Magda and Emine, participants in the @WMCMediators Network, who The Countess has met previously.

They spoke to The Countess about their aims to secure the inclusion of women at all stages of peace negotiations.

Today The Earl and Countess of Wessex visited St Vincent and the Grenadines as part of their Caribbean tour.

🏏 🏃🏽‍♀️ At the Sir Vincent Beache National Stadium, The Earl met sportsmen and women who will take part in the Commonwealth Games this summer in #Birmingham2022. 💃 At St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, The Countess watched La Gracia Dance Company perform, as well as meeting local women’s groups to learn more about their role in the community's response to the eruption of the La Soufriere Volcano.

Today marks 70 years since Queen Elizabeth II acceded to the throne, following the death of her father, King George VI.

Her Majesty was proclaimed Queen throughout the UK and Commonwealth in the early hours of 6 February 1952.

In an instant, she had ceased to be Princess Elizabeth and became Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen has hosted a reception for local community groups at Sandringham House on the eve of Accession Day.

Her Majesty is the first Monarch in history to reach the historic milestone of 70 years on the throne. The Queen was joined by members of the Sandringham @WomensInstitute, local pensioners, @WNBefriending and Little Discoverers, an early-years charity for children with disabilities.

This year The Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee, marking 7⃣0⃣ years as Monarch.

To begin the celebrations, Her Majesty viewed a selection of cards, letters and artwork sent to her by children and other members of the public to mark this, and previous, Jubilees. In 2002, for the Golden Jubilee, 9 year-old Chris sent Her Majesty ‘A Recipe for a Perfect Queen’.

On February 6 this year, The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a #PlatinumJubilee.

Tomorrow The Queen will speak to the nation in her annual Christmas Broadcast.

In 1932 King George V, Her Majesty's grandfather, delivered the first Christmas Broadcast from Sandringham via radio, saying:

“I speak now from my home and from my heart to you all” The outbreak of war in 1939 firmly established the Royal Christmas Broadcast. 

With large parts of the world facing an uncertain future, The King offered a message of reassurance.

When The Queen succeeded her father in 1952, she spoke of her intention to continue the tradition.

🇨🇦 This afternoon The Queen visited the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery at the Guardroom at Windsor Castle.

The Regiment is currently undertaking guard duties in London and Windsor, for the very first time. The Queen was shown the guards’ accommodation, and heard about the soldiers’ visit to the UK, and their homes and families in Canada.

"It is with great pleasure on behalf of a grateful nation, that I award the George Cross to the National Health Services of the United Kingdom.”

Her Majesty The Queen The George Cross was instituted in 1940 by King George VI for “acts of the greatest heroism or of the most courage in circumstances of extreme danger”.

It is the UK's highest award for non-military courage.

This award recognises all NHS staff, past and present.

🌏 This morning The Queen and The Princess Royal visited the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute to learn about their work to combat climate change.

🚙 Her Majesty and Her Royal Highness arrived at @EdCentreCC, which is part of @EdinburghUni, by hybrid Range Rover. ☀️ The Queen and The Princess heard about the pioneering research on climate change and solutions.

🌊 They viewed a scale model of a @WaveEnergyScot device that generates electricity from wave energy. The real 8 meter long device is soon to be installed off the Orkney coast.

🪵Today The Queen and The Princess Royal visited one of the last wild spaces in the west-end of Glasgow: @childrens_wood.

🌲The former football pitch was transformed into a woodland and meadow 20 years ago. 🧺 @Childrens_wood is an important place for the local community: people of all generations come here to walk their dogs, picnic, garden, play and enjoy being in nature.

🌱Her Majesty and The Princess were shown around community allotments where herbs and vegetables are grown.

This morning The Duke of Cambridge visited BAE Systems’ shipyard in Govan to mark the official start of construction on the @RoyalNavy’s 21st century warship HMS BELFAST, and to see how construction is progressing on HMS GLASGOW. 'My family’s affection for the Royal Navy is well known, and as I saw the work taking place here today, I was thinking of my Grandfather, The Duke of Edinburgh. He would have been fascinated and very excited to see such advances in skills and technology being put into practice.’

🇬🇧🇺🇸 Today, The Queen will receive President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at Windsor Castle.

Her Majesty has received 4 other Presidents of the United States at Windsor Castle in recent years.

President Biden will be the 13th serving US President to be met by Her Majesty. As Head of State, The Queen regularly speaks to world leaders and key diplomatic figures.

The President and Dr Biden are in the UK for the @G7 Summit. The Queen and Members of The Royal Family attended the G7 Leaders Reception on Friday.

This morning The Countess of Wessex took to the basketball court in Finsbury Park, to take part in the first of @BritWheelBBall’s new Wheelchair Basketball courses 🏀 As Patron of @BritWheelBBall, The Countess joined young athletes on the court, and put her skills to the test.

🇮🇪 Ten years ago today, Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, made a State Visit to the Republic of Ireland at the invitation of President Mary McAleese.

🍃 Today marks the launch of @QGCanopy, a a unique, UK-wide tree planting initiative created to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
