It is 1973 in Chiweshe, the ZANLA freedom fighters organised transport to go and fetch arms and ammunition from one of their camps on the summit of the Zambezi escarpment at a place called Uchachacha northwest of St Albert’s Mission. With the arms and ammunition now in Chiweshe, the ZANLA fighters decided to base themselves right in the centre of Chiweshe at a rocky mountain called Gonhi, which is near Nzvimbo Growth Point.
From that mountain they began fighting the war of liberation in Chiweshe.
