Fr Vincent Capodanno was a U.S. Navy chaplain who earned the Medal of Honor after being killed in action in Vietnam.
The Catholic Church has named him a "Servant of God," the first step on the path to being recognized as a saint.

Fr Capodanno was born the youngest of 10 children on Staten Island, NY in 1929.
He was ordained a priest in 1958 and spent almost a decade as a missionary in Taiwan and then Hong Kong.

A common objection from catholics who oppose robust border security is that charity demands we welcome anyone who comes seeking a better life.
But charity does not demand that we treat everyone the same.
This is intuitive. A mother should love her child more than a stranger.
