This time of year, EVERY YEAR, all of my clients, colleagues, friends, and family ask:

So, here are my honest thoughts for 2024: Warning: I may not have a crystal ball, but I do have over 15 years of experience in selling luxury real estate with over $6B worth of transactions under my belt.

Offering to "work for free" when you have no real past experience isn't a very enticing pitch...

You're really just asking for free training.

Instead, learn a series hard skills by taking online courses and starting side projects... THEN offer to work for free for someone. You should only offer to "work for free" when you have enough experience to the point where you can provide value to the person that you're making the offer to.
