this is so funny libs are doing birtherism but for Elon's academic degrees truly a fascinating look into the lib mind, in which legitimacy in society is conferred by class markers like educational degrees, dressing well, etc

A brief/not so complicated guide to switching from twitter to mastodon. there are lots of these, but not so many very simple guides. at the end of this one, you will poast, will have followed a bunch of ppl you know from twitter, and your mutuals will find you easily. (1) get on desktop. open up debirdify: pruvisto.org/debirdify/. let it peek at your followers. this picks up on people who have mastodon usernames in their profile. you will get a breakdown of the servers (aka instances) they have joined.

@GayAltPerson ok. here is what a groebner basis is. two different descriptions. but first, what is the goal with them @GayAltPerson i think it is a very common experience for a bunch of grad students to be gathered around a chalk board, and one of them says "ok we have a polynomial map V->W and we just need to figure out its image" and then there's silence as everyone realizes they have no idea how to do this

Thread: 99 bottles of beer on the wall except I count upward to zero.

99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer.

did you know there's a formula for computing integrals of inverse functions? Think back: did this useful result appear in your basic calculus courses? 1/n Probably not. How did this result somehow get weeded out of the curriculum while all these other Newton/Euler era integration techniques got passed down?

Guess what: IT'S A RELATIVELY RECENT RESULT. In full generality it first appeared publicly in 1965. 2/n

having played gta v for a bit (haven't finished it):
- better with mouse and keyboard than gamepad
- lots of unintentional humor (it's way dumber than they were going for), a lot of the intended humor isn't funny
- very bro-ey
- michael is an interesting character - trevor is sort of interesting, is entertaining. playing him makes me feel bad about myself :(
- franklin has no character. he's smart, ambitious and self aware (the others are in denial about being bad ppl, he doesn't care), then they haven't done anything with that
