Tribunal reports describe a shocking incident during a GP home visit.
A driver reportedly:
• entered the patient’s home
• began taking observations
• then carried out a breast examination on a post-partum mother

Drivers are not clinicians.
They are not trained to perform intimate examinations.
How did this happen?
@GMC_UK @NHSEngland @DHSCgovuk @SexMattersOrg @JournalismSEEN dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1… 2/
An intimate examination requires:
• informed consent
• a qualified clinician
• proper documentation in the clinical record
• an appropriate chaperone

If a driver performed a breast examination, it is extremely difficult to see how valid consent could have been obtained or documented.
Without consent, this may constitute sexual assault.

You have been hearing about NHS Hospitals in England, next week we will be publishing evidence of unlawful single-sex policies across NHS Health Boards in Scotland, that affect female staff and patients. This evidence comes directly from policies disclosed under FOI. Please help by following us @SEENinHealth and sharing posts to support transparency and accountability. #TheLawIsTheLaw

We are seriously concerned by the multiple incorrect claims made in @TheLancet Information for Authors (June 2024) 🧵

thelancet.com/pb-assets/Lanc… (1) The guide claims that 'Sex and gender are often incorrectly portrayed as binary, concordant and static'.

There are only two sexes and they are immutable. 'Gender' is the socially constructed stereotypical behaviours applied to people based on sex.
