More about the importance of the new G code - here are the gaps it helps fill:
✅ Actions at assisted living/nursing homes that require a physician response
✅ Time spent by care/referral/medical record coordinators that help manage the ongoing flow of information. 1/4 ✅Physician time re: ongoing mgmt and thus inadequately addressed in the outpt E/M codes even as finalized by CMS: oversight of med refills, evaluating appropriateness of current and new meds, and conducting med-related monitoring and safety when not part of a visit 2/4

And, the PFS/QPP rule is out! Here's the fact sheet - E/M codes are being finalized, as well as the new G-code for complexity (at a lower expected utilization). This is good news! Will be reviewing and have more to say soon. cms.gov/newsroom/fact-… @RobertBlaser1 @BillFoxMD @BobDohertyACP - check it out!

Okay, so far this reading of the physician fee schedule proposal has been pretty enjoyable. Here is what page 516 says in summary: Separate payment for the five levels of office/outpatient E/M visit CPT codes, as
revised by the CPT Editorial Panel effective January 1, 2021. 2. Including the increased values for those codes as per the recommendations from @ACPinternists @AmerMedicalAssn and many others.
