1. It is vitally important that my colleagues in Parliament are clear, before we vote on 12 March, that the UK can only hold a second referendum if we take part in the 23 May European Parliament elections. Here's why...

***THREAD*** 2. European Parliament elections will take place across EU between 23 & 26 May, & newly elected EP will convene on 2 July. EU clear that the new EP would not be legally constituted if UK is still an EU member state on 2 July but has no British MEPs sitting in newly elected EP.

1/ Our front bench's amendment pre-supposes that we'll be able to negotiate and create new and bespoke forms of 'access to the Single Market' and 'shared institutions'. But we simply don't have the time or leverage to do that: we have to pick a model. 2/ It makes no mention of free movement of labour, whereas articles 112 and 113 of the EEA Agreement provide a solid, treaty-based mechanism for reforming FoM.

Good that @LeaveEUOfficial busted for blatant undeclared over-spends, esp re Goddard Gunster as per my complaint at start of 2017, but amazed @ElectoralCommUK claims no evidence of £800k illicit donations in kind from Cambridge Analytica. I’ve sent them compelling evidence /1 It is important that we see further investigation of Cambridge Analytica role regarding Leave.EU as I’m not satisfied with @ElectoralCommUK conclusions there. Info from Information Commissioner inquiry may shine further light on this feature /2

Is huge row brewing in Tory Party abt transition period, played out in @CommonsEUexit Committee
@DavidDavisMP just told us govt accepts ECJ jurisdiction & full application of Single Market & Customs Union throughout transition
@Jacob_Rees_Mogg says that makes us a "vassal state" . Questioning from @Jacob_Rees_Mogg shows dangers of @DavidDavisMP @Theresa_May failure to lay ground work with own backbenchers, let alone public, abt what transition and Brexit actually means. Real issue here and unless gov prepare ground & are honest things cld all fall apart
