At Chi Board of Ed agenda meeting after going to some pressers on Northwestern University hazing. One item that the board is considering is reupping a contract that provides individual math tutoring for students from alternative schools. Saga Innovations provides this tutoring which is very expensive and uses Americorp tutors.

In anticipation of Chicago Public Schools going from an appointed to an elected Board, the legislature required a report that details the financial entanglements between the city and the school district. It is here:

cpsboe.org/content/docume… My biggest takeaway is that the entanglements are not massive (a couple hundred million in a school district with a budget of $9.5 million).
