Slavery is cruelty but also a punishment for the worst crime, shirk. This is how it should be viewed. It is disingenuous to try and portray it as something wholesome.
You people have become so inhumanely cruel (and I hate using the word “inhuman” as I hold to Proudhon’s proverb). No one wants to be a slave. To be raped and beaten and forced to labour. It is a punishment for the crime of all crimes (shirk). It should be treated as such.

I have a masters degree in engineering, have written dissertations on material deformation in aircraft components (aluminium 2024-T3) and designed basic turboprop engines as part of my qualification.
You can have 10,000,000 engineers you’re not going to accomplish anything.
As @ibn_alJad and others have commented before the components for building such machines are hyper-specialised and building an autarkic supply chain for them is impossible. Trade with kuffar states is necessary and such trade will only aid their MIC development.
