Please dont watch it if you cant deal w/it. I do not wish to traumatize anyone.
But understand this: every Black/African American is traumatized every single day. By witnessing/hearing/just experiencing societal response of total apathy towards violence against Black/Brown folk.

In case you caught Pelosi @MSNBC hinting that there may be UBI in "next phase" & found yourself thinking: "maybe they will see what is right. Maybe they will change!"
You need to understand: these ppl didnt come out of nowhere. Their families have had extensive wealth (1)
..and power in this country for a long time. The structures which give them their power& inextricably link their views of a "fair" democracy with their full hearted faith in a cold, capitalistic society & "free market" have also existed since before this country was founded. (2)

Hi @esaagar & @krystalball if you wouldnt mind pointing out to any politicians suggesting that UI benefits are "too high" & therefore ppl will try to stay unemployed my personal experience: I just filed. It will take a minimum of 1 week before a pin is mailed to me so that (1)
I can register to complete the rest of required documents. I will then need to apply for a payment which I cant do any earlier than may 10th. After that it is 4 to 6 more weeks for claim processing. And if approved,I will need to wait another full week before any payment will(2)
