Sad Marsh Ghost: #1 Fan of The Ice House Profile picture
?transmission¿ from a radio tower strangled by weeds, sinking within a lonely marsh. I like BBC's A Ghost Story for Christmas: The Ice House (1978).

I don't believe neo-Nazis are more class conscious than liberals. The conversation about the left needing to appeal more to the public has become entirely focused around the left needing to appeal to neo-Nazis. Bit weird. It's easier to get non-voting randomers to become progressives than it is to get neo-Nazis to stop being Nazis and become randomers who become progressives.

Due to its brooding atmosphere and cat vs mouse premise Harlan Ellison's other time travel Outer Limits episode 'Demon with a Glass Hand" reminded me more of Cameron's The Terminator than the episode he claimed in his lawsuit. Image No way I'm saying this on Facebook, but:

I don't think Terminator seemed particularly indebted to Soldier -- certainly no more than Soldier did to countless sci-fi works before it. I can't pretend La Jetée and other things didn't exist.

I hate woke advertising as it co-opts valid causes to justify capitalism. MAGAs hate woke advertising as it puts black people on their televisions. We're not on the same side. I think validating the prejudices of fascists is an all-around bad idea and that libs -- shitty as they may be -- are closer allies than MAGAs.

Michael Moore understood Joker more than any other liberal commentator. The film shows how capitalism deranges people, encourages cruelty, exacerbates loneliness and turns our living space into a grotesque nightmare. It should be used to help further discussions of austerity. It has more genuine progressive credentials than Marvel, Doctor Who or more celebrated properties on Left Twitter and provides a raw portrayal of what cuts to social safety nets do to people, providing this example in a manner accessible to popular culture via a familiar figure

Am I supposed to be impressed by this? This was uploaded last month. lmao It's not *for* you.

I don't doubt these books are weak (probably for reasons different to his), but this is such bullshit content.

I'm not going to retweet/tag him in case he's being truthful, but he *always* does this. Every vanilla GamerGate-pandering take that is no different to anything he does or says daily is always down to a dramatic upstart in mental illness/side effects – if faced with criticism. New antidepressants can seriously mess you up (I once ended up hospitalised), but I don't buy that they make you calmly reiterate what you have always believed. This guy never takes responsibility for anything, and as somebody who also suffers from this stuff it really bugs me.

I used to be obnoxious about my WOKE views on gender/sex being constructs and tell trans people in threads on trans issues that discussions about their civil rights were pointless. I still believe the former to a large extent, but society don't, which is why we need the latter. I didn't phrase/think it in the blunt 'SCREW YOUR RIGHTS!' way, but it's basically the implication when telling people not to concerned about certain issues they probably should be concerned about.

When I was too insular and numb to understand how his words could potentially (and did) affect people's lives, I found Milo moderately amusing on news programmes as a guy bringing vague unpredictability to a stale format. It doesn't excuse it *at all*, but I assumed everybody was aware that he was just saying anything offensive for attention, and I saw him as a harmless pest. It wasn't until I saw vids of huge crowds unironically cheering his statements that I hated him.

Starship Troopers is an anti-right, anti-nationalist, anti-imperialist movie you stupid fucks. Don't know what I expect from UKIPers, but championing anti-nationalist Starship Troopers (film only) because they like the iconography it's *criticising* beggars belief. The lack of self-awareness is baffling. It would be like a Stalinist constantly championing Animal Farm.

Rewatching a film I am very mixed about: Godzilla (2014). Painfully boring characters and awkward pacing severely drag the film down, but the monster sequences are among the best in the series. When I say the characters are boring, I'm obviously not counting Bryan Cranston. His character is very compelling and well drawn. A great human hook for the almost Quatermass-esque investigation. I like these parts every viewing, and I have seen this film a lot more than most.

Gunn's 2011 gross-out Troma-esque humour was only ever intended to be seen by his like-minded cult audience. Since he found mainstream fame with 'Guardians' he has used his large platform responsibly. The far-right are trying to smear him as a predator. Do not let them win. Disney's decision has emboldened the far-right, and these tactics will now spread beyond rapist and racist Mike Cernovitch, so this isn't any kind of victory for social justice. A (likely) decent guy has been ripped from his story to appease fascists.

Oh, for fuck's sake. Oh no. He sat in Winston Churchill's chair. STOP GETTING TRUMP HATE WRONG.

(P.S. FUCK Trump!) Tired of our gutless press fighting block-headed nationalism with... more block-headed nationalism. The biggest grievances yet? Trump sat in dead Churchill's chair and was awkward during some bizarre royal ceremony with the queen and her goon squad.

FUCK Trump, but... ugh.......

People tend to be weirded out at how passionate I am about Batman Returns considering my general antipathy toward franchises and sequels, but it really is that good, and I'm considering starting a blog devoted to it. I think it'd be cool to put it in the context of gothic romance cinema, as it really has more in common with Rebecca than a superhero film, so I'd get to talk about a lot of my weird obsessions and have the linchpin be something famous and accessible for people.

Sometimes I want an easy laugh and visit trad scum Doctor Who forum The Hive (thehiveforum.forumotion.com) to see the overreactions, often to generic playful dialogue.

'Have you ever seen anything as hateful and disgusting as that?'

Uh, I've... seen... worse examples of racism. You are.

The Jonathan Pie turned out to be gammon on the inside. He is now indistinguishable from the Sargon and Dankula crowd, right down to the language he is copying. All to broaden his audience. Expect a declaration of classical liberalism and appearance on the Rubin Report very soon. Jonathan the Gammon Pie here defends actual virtue signalling (taking credit for gay representation in a story that actually isn't at all there for the ego boost) to attack something that isn't at all virtue signalling. He does this a lot.

Having a fetish for black people doesn't stop Milo being racist, especially as he has admitted he gets kicks out of sex with a black person due to how naughty and profane it feels, which is, y'know, actually very racist. I don't kink shame. Everybody has their 'hing.

In this case I make comment because his fetish for black people is routinely brought up as a reason why it would be impossible for him to be a racist, when it's really just part of the same thing with him.

My best friend turned out to be a sex offender a year back. Upset me to shit ignoring his jail letter, but would haunt me more if he reoffended while receiving my support. Hope to god he sorts his shit out, but guy needs to be in prison. Been hiding this for too long. Fuck life. To clarify: when I said I had been hiding this I mean I had been hiding being upset about this. Have spread awareness and kept the mother of his child informed during the whole disaster when the police wouldn't. This level of heaviness is not something I expected to deal with.

NOBODY is talking about how the online depression community has been infiltrated by alt-right recruiters deliberately preying on the vulnerable.

There NEED to be public warnings about this. 'Online pals' have attempted to groom me multiple times when at my absolute lowest. The common railroad stages of 'helpful' linking to 'motivational speakers' goes 'Jordan Peterson ---> Stefan Molyneux ---> Millennial Woes. The first is charismatic and not as harmful, but his persuasiveness leaves people open for the next two, who are frankly evil and dumb.
