Short thread 💈1/5

Trolls, bots, Far Right are desperate for you to believe the NHS is adequately funded

Because then they can blame the service for the state it’s in

And then they can say it’s not working and we need a different model

#ToriesOut367 #GeneralElectionNow Nothing could be further from the truth 2/5

This “ record funding” we keep hearing is because they added the covid contracts onto the NHS Budget

Yes. None of it went to NHS but it’s in their figures. And it’s not a small amount either it’s tens of billions 😮

Short 💈

10 years down the line I wonder what our kids will think of us.

We left them unmasked ( mostly ) and unvaccinated. With a virus that we do not fully understand the longterm effects of.

We want it to be “ mild “

Truth is: we don’t really know

Evidence is accumulating of longer term implications

Narrative of letting it rip and allowing sky high cases fatally flawed if discussion is wider than hospitalisations and deaths

Where does all the NHS money go? A 💈

Constant wrangling over NHS finances: it’s a bottomless pit - it’s mismanaged - it’s a huge amount - it’s not enough - will never be enough....

Where to start with all of this?

Let’s take a look....
1/15 Does UK spend match comparable countries?

Well no. Not in proportion of national income or per head of population, it spends less than average

In comparison to G7 countries it’s spend was second lowest
