I understand the dismay of Labour members at the clear sabotage, bullying & racism revealed in the Labour leaks report. Compounded by lack of ANY suspensions & capitulation to unaffiliated lobbies of extreme right wing governments...(1) But don’t give the Right what they want by giving up. It’s time to fight back. We should be on the front foot. In the wider movement as well as inside the Party. And we must refuse to internalise the frame & censorship they have tried to impose on us (2)

There needs to be open and frank dialogue with communities to ensure people know what to expect around issue of burials. The #coronavirus Emergency Bill appears to be paving way for automatic cremations instead of burial (1) If that is due to genuine medical need to protect life, religious communities which normally forbid cremation - including Muslim & Jewish communities would be very distressed but would have to comply. However, if it is a planning & resource issue (2)

This election was a Brexit referendum. The Left ceded ground to Remain ‘centrists’, against Jeremy's own judgement. Jeremy has been proved right and we must continue on a path that serves working-class voters more effectively. Labour is now the largest Party in Europe. That’s due to policy direction of Corbyn leadership & vision. The manifesto pledges were popular & desperately needed. But too many ‘centrist’ Labour MPs were focused on insisting on Remain position & ignoring Labour Brexit voters (cont)

I stood against Naz Shah in 2017 because as a Labour MP, she had chosen not to vote against Tory cuts and had campaigned against Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership.
