Hey,
My wife sent this post to me, she encouraged me to share my struggles, how i overcame them & my own unique way of keeping it at bay. Hope you get to see this & i pray this helps you.

A long thread 🧵 but a worthy read.
1/10 First of all, I need you to know that you are not your weak moments. The secretive nature of porn addiction, makes it easy to always beat yourself up every time you engage in self sexual pleasure & harder to seek help from its addictive shackles, esp as a Christian. I’ve been there before & i know the struggles that comes with living with guilt.

The most dangerous people to have in your circle, are the ones that are overfamiliar with your beginnings & haven’t acknowledged your growth or where you are at now. They are the ones in rooms where your name is mentioned, speaking loud, debating your worth & telling total strangers that they know you, saying “don’t worry they will do it for free, I’ll call them”.

Found out that some people I call ‘friend’ ‘brother’, shared private moments with (birthdays), opened up to, invited each other into our homes, ate with family, done business and made money, prayed together; detest & hate me in reality because I’m Igbo. It is sad & very painful. I have consciously stayed away from political fights online/offline cause I know how intense it can get, but hearing some of the tribalistic things you say behind my back, on here & then when we see you try to play it off, is heartbreaking. How do I even trust you moving forward?

My salary in 2011 was 400k/month as a new grad from Uni. I was flexing hard in PH. With 80k I bought like 4 quality brand new suits from Turkey, shirts & even shoes to go with it. I remember my guy, Elo & I bought Swarovski for our babes & usually do occasional shopping for them. PS: I graduated in 2010. Got hired as a design intern for Drax Art after I was done with my thesis. In 2011, I got a job in an Oil & Gas company in PH. Had a jeep, a house in c*caine estate (IYKYK). By 2014 I was able to pay for my Masters & accommodation abroad by myself.

Doing anything in Nigeria is at your own risk & a lot of young people don’t factor these things when wrangled up in startup ambitions. Remembered my conversation with @asemota while sipping on wine, 2am, in Accra, he said “knowing when to walk away, is as important as starting”. His fave movie quote “Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner”.
My dad told me a story about this couple in church who bought lots of land in Lekki phase 1 when it was very cheap &
