I just read the 2016 and 2018 RWA audits.

Does anyone know why, in 2018, RWA spent ~24.5% less on 'membership services' (conference, membership support, advocacy, RWR, contest) and ~30% more on 'management and general' than RWA spent in 2015?

(1/?) Some of that is likely attributable to lower contest costs ($60k drop in expenses from 2017 to 2018).

But 'membership support services' dropped steadily:
- 2015: 500,946
- 2016: 468,301
- 2017: 441,271
- 2018: 251,906

Spent two hours rage-reading the #IStandWithCourtney debacle and was trying to formulate my thoughts...but then saw this. Fuck it. No patience to formulate.

@romancewriters There are several threads here, all tied up in one garbage package:
1) Blatant underbelly of oldskool racism in RWA
2) Massive, necessary changes that members like @courtneymilan have tried to push up the hill
3) A paid RWA staff that financially benefits from status quo
