Ship breaking yard in Chittagong, Bangladesh has unusually high number of work related fatalities and injuries.
Due to extreme poverty and political situations in Chittagong hill tracts many Jummas also working in ship breaking yard and carrying out such dangerous jobs.

A Chakma man Ripon Chakma was killed on Saturday(19/06/2021) during a work related incident at a ship breaking yard in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Dangerous gases could have caused the explosion which took his life.
On This Day:
02/06/2017, a massive communal & arson attack was carried out by Bengali muslim settlers & B'desh army on indigenous Buddhist villages in Langadu, Rangamati dist, Bangladesh.
More than 300 Chakma houses burnt to ashes. Many villages completely burnt down.

Muslim settlers trying to instigate violence over CHT land Commission meeting today.
Bengali settlers, evidently under guidance of Army, block the CHT Land Commission in Rangamati Hill District

under the banner of newly formed and army-backed Parbatya Nagarok Parishad halted and surrounded Chairman of CHT Regional Council Mr. Jyotirindra Bodhipriya Larma, Chakma Circle Chief Raja Devasish Roy and Chairman of CHT Land Dispute Resolution Commission Mr. Anowar-Ul Hoque
