The life we are living in the southwest right now is a complete failure of governing, not by current leadership, but decades of failures to make sometimes expensive investments because no one could explain why it was needed. Now people are dying, cold and without water. Initially it was just a winter storm, extreme cold was coming. The houses here in NW Louisiana and in Texas are built for much, much warmer weather and many don't have a solid foundation but pier and beam construction.
