I'm a broken record and it's a minor point, but I do think this graf from Klein makes an even stronger argument than what he intended: The most damning thing about this press conference wasn't Biden confusing names, but that he was screaming about a thing that didn't happen 1/ Image Biden's press conference was because he was so incensed that Hur brought up Beau Biden for no apparent reason and then had the nerve to act like *Biden* was the confused one.

But that was a complete inversion of reality from Biden.

Hunter Biden's expensive (although he's not paying for it) attorney's entire strategy has been to cry about how Joe Biden's DOJ (??) is targeting him for political reasons. Somehow both Hunter and his father signed off on this I have no reason to doubt Hunter’s sobriety other than the fact that you would have to be high to think this was a wise argument to present to a judge. Turns out it didn’t work and now the judge is angry.

That story is almost certainly a lie.

I think it’s impossible not to think Mayorkas is lying here. He says individuals will be deported within “days or weeks,” but that beggars belief for two reasons: 1. How will they be removed? Via ICE raids? 2. Removing them would be contrary to ICE’s deportation policies The Biden administration enacted new standards for deportation that supposedly only focuses on violent offenders (in reality deportations have plummeted). Saying they’ll deport these new migrants run in direct conflict with ICE’s stated policy. And they didn’t announce a new one.

one of the things about fetterman's performance last night was that it really demystified his entire candidacy. no longer does he posses the formula to win back working class whites. instead, the election is about what every other race is about: stopping the GOP now the message from his campaign isn't really any different from a generic democrat, with some new "strength through weakness" stuff sprinkled on top. the latter is really just a product of the new democratic coalition aka college educated and beyond.
