Thread: Scarfolk 2018 highlight. In June, the government published its civil service quarterly magazine, which included a piece about the history of state public information. Among the images of genuine campaigns, however, was a Scarfolk poster about shooting rabid children. /1 The civil service quickly amended the digital version of the publication but not before many people had downloaded it and the story went viral. It was reported by the BBC, Sky News, The Times, RT & the Mirror and as far afield as Poland, New Zealand, Colombia and Iran. /2

Wow. This has made my week. This is from the government's *own* publication about the history of government communications. They mistakenly included a Scarfolk poster which encourages the killing of children. Clearly, nobody thought it was too extreme.
