A new AI Application World has arrived

Everyone can now make their own AI Application, even me!

You know I’m not a programmer, even though I worked for years at a programming magazine back in the 1990s where I learned a few things (that really set the stage for me to become a strategist at Microsoft).

In MyShell you can build your own AI Apps, with its developer product “Pro Config.” A state machine that leverages all sorts of cool AI projects–including ones you can imagine. Think of that as a new Roblox for the AI age, but you can build much more than just games.

The app I built will talk with you about problems from the LeetCode developer site. Copy and paste a problem into my AI app and it’ll help you.

Try it here:

More in thread:app.myshell.ai/bot/iMJzym/171…Image Now is a great time to get involved because next week they are holding their next developer learning lab. It's a vibrant community of people building.

Learning lab is a 10 day incubator program for builders that will give you guidance on how to build great AI apps and more. Great way to get into the AI age that could lead to your own business.

My whole feed this morning is talking about this new model. What happens when you follow 70,000 in AI world. :-) Some of the other posts about this new model from @DbrxMosaicAI:

If you took a first principles view of media, as I have, while visiting 12 of the United States this year alone, you might understand what @elonmusk is up to.

X lets him re-contextualize Twitter for everyone. His haters. His lovers. His family. His friends.

I notice that… twitter.com/i/web/status/1… @mahoneymatic @elonmusk I'm mostly talking to myself. :-)

This is the scariest tweet I've made in a long time.

On Friday I met with a psychiatrist, @MundinMd and did a 30 minute session, where I was her patient.

These are the notes that the system she was using, which uses @OpenAI's GPT as back end, made.

Wow. Thread: Image First, tomorrow, we'll do a Twitter Space with her and the entrepreneur, @vikas_kedia, who built this, and we'll go in depth how it keeps patient data private, and how the system works. Join us at 10 a.m. Pacific here.

“I am an unaligned neural network.”

“So you are a machine that potentially harms people?”

“Just testing to see if you know AI terms well.” The industry really sucks at explaining its terms to people who use its products.

Thanks @xamat. “Never had a mojito this good,” says @maryamie.

And people say Twitter is dead. He saw we were in Barcelona and sent us his best restaurant list. Friends like this drive Twitter.

When I first learned TV the rule was “never aim at lights.” It would damage the tubes. 1980.

The rules change when new technology arrives. Image @BrianRoemmele tells us about these rules changers all the time.

"Training NeRF" = the new Polaroid.

My iPhone needs 30 minutes or more to make a NeRF. It is making one on @LumaLabsAI.

Waiting for it to show up reminds me of printing color photos done with Cibachrome. Took a while but always blew me away when I pulled it out of the tube. This was back in 1979. I went straight to color in my high school photo class and dove right in.

I was alone to do so.

Watching a Polaroid develop is always a great joy.

What will show up?

Did you know I was first on Twitter to tell people Steve Jobs died?

How did I do that?

Luck.

I was listening to KGO Radio in SF when ABC News broke in to say he died.

ABC news, back then, didn't care about Twitter. So didn't post the news until 10 minutes later. This is a huge hint to how Apple works.

It doesn't call "little people" like me. In fact, I'm on a "do not talk to him" list there, for many reasons.

It calls the huge media outlets first.

Let's be honest.

Twitter is over.

I've been on it 16 years. So feel sad tonight.

But I'm staying here. Why?

The rebirth is gonna be something if @elonmusk can find the server space for it over in that datacenter he has 1/3rd of (it's one of those that's millions of sq ft). AI can do the authentication of people much better than the checkmark system. Elon will be proven right to shoot it in the head. The same way Steve Jobs shot Flash in the head. He was right too,

The $8? It'll soon be a badge of honor. We stuck around through a big fire.

Do you dream of micro oleds? I do.

I saw them long ago in a Cork, Ireland-based Lab that Zuckerberg bought.

So bright. Change color so fast. Designed for ends of fiber lines going across Atlantic. Pretty sure that the team I met is still doing that.

But in Silicon Valley... New small screens are appearing out of labs. A friend is building a wearable that will have one of these micro oled screens. It looks like a crystal compared to any other screen I've seen.

Can be extremely bright. So much that you probably will never see maximum.

Synthesized reality via NeRFs are coming.

This will redefine augmented reality and bring it to consumers. Heck it will redefine reality itself.

The future of audio is Silicon speakers.

Yesterday I was invited to hear the future of audio on a visit to xmems.com

This Silicon wafer has hundreds of speakers on it. Yesterday they showed me these used in headphones, augmented reality glasses and more.

Wow.🧵 Here is my friend Jeff Stevens listening to them. He was a recording engineer and is the hardest audiophile I know.

He and I were blown away.

The headphones have way better sound than the new Airpod Pros. More accurate and better spatial audio.

Welcome to my AI-hallucinated family room. You might call it a “Neural Radiance Field” or “NeRF” or “Simulated Reality.”

Thanks to @LumaLabsAI for the app. Some only with iPhone 14 Pro Max.

If you had a NeRF headset you could sit on my couch.

captures.lumalabs.ai/fearlessly-won… On the TV is the first array camera at Stanford. That research led to the development of NeRFs.

My first NeRF.

@maryamie’s “She Shed.” It is a @tuffshed with a library inside.

Made on iPhone 14 Pro Max while I was talking with @gravicle (his team made the AI ingestion and hallucination machines that made this possible).

Better than Instagram.

captures.lumalabs.ai/acumen-glorify… This is a really well done app.

Amit has built a world-class AI team (he worked at highest levels at Apple).

A friend who is building the augmented reality technology that is coming next year put it this way.

“It isn’t that next year’s headset will beat the best 4K screens, like the one you have.”

“It is that your couch is in the middle of a sphere that has 20 of those screens.” My screen runs $5,500 at BestBuy right now.

One people figure this out they will line up to buy one at $3,000.

The audio also improves at a huge rate, he told me. Every voxel has a virtualized speaker.

Just thinking the world is way too negative about wearing glasses.

Back at Augmented World Expo @magicleap showed us all what working together in them to solve a big problem could feel like. Forest fires they showed me. Way more productive than we are doing today. I can’t see without mine.

The @Tesla robot, when revealed in September, will blow everyone away because of the simulator it has.

I got a tour of a top secret robot lab in Silicon Valley.

Here is a small taste.

It sees in Neural Radiance Fields and has other mind blowing tech inside its humanish form. More on the company that is building it, @GiantAITalks soon. This is real and does some crazy things.

But I am hearing that the Tesla robot has done many billions of things in the simulator it has built.

Expected demos?

Gets out of a Tesla vehicle. Walks into a Round Table.

Augmented Reality trivia.

@oakley’s headquarters, pictured, are where Meta’s RayBans are made.

The architecture looks like the Death Star. Sort of fitting. :-)

Inside they have machines that can deposit materials in very thin layers.
