Ending the scourge of forced labor is one of our top priorities at DHS. Towards that goal, we vigorously enforce laws that prevent the importation of goods made in whole or in part by forced labor. This work, performed by our incredible personnel, is a humanitarian imperative. One of the laws we enforce is the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA). In only two years since we began implementing the UFLPA, we have stopped more than 9,000 shipments worth over $3.4 billion from entering the U.S.

The bipartisan agreement in the Senate is tough, fair, and takes meaningful steps to address the challenges our country faces after decades of Congressional inaction. (1/10) It would allow @DHSgov to remove more quickly those who do not establish a legal basis to remain in the United States, reducing the time from years to months. It would expedite protection and work authorization for those with legitimate claims. (2/10)

Do not believe the lies of smugglers. The border is not open. (2/4)

I am deeply disappointed by today’s #DACA ruling and the ongoing uncertainty it creates for families and communities across the country.

We are currently reviewing the court’s decision and will work with @TheJusticeDept on an appropriate legal response.

(1/) As a result of the stay that remains in place, no one who currently has #DACA will lose their protection from removal or work authorization. (2/)

Today @DHSGov took its latest step in demonstrating that the U.S. will continue to protect human rights and international labor standards by joining @StateDept, @USTreasury, @CommerceGov, @USTradeRep, and @USDOL in issuing an updated Xinjiang Supply Chain Business Advisory. The Advisory warns of the risks of doing business in China’s Xinjiang region, where the Chinese government is committing human rights abuses against the Uyghur people and other minorities.
