I am proud to announce my progressive priorities for clean energy deployment and community engagement. We must come together to ensure that any proposal centers justice and does not perpetuate more harm to the frontline communities who have already suffered the most. By passing the IRA we have already taken the first step toward unleashing a clean energy revolution. With this funding for environmental justice and NEPA implementation, we have made the largest investment in climate and clean energy in history.

I am so glad that we finally passed an end-of-year spending package that keeps essential government services running while making major investments to improve the health, safety, resiliency, and prosperity of millions of people in Massachusetts and across the nation. This package writes into law significant progress in my continued efforts to safeguard coastal communities from the threats posed by climate change and funds critical research to shed light on the adverse impacts of media and technology on the development of young people.

The Supreme Court’s decision in West Virginia v. EPA lets polluters turn back the clock on fifty years of reduced pollution and improved air quality all across the country. The result of this dangerous decision is an EPA that is undermined in its ability to protect the public. We cannot sit by as a captured, illegitimate, and far-right Supreme Court majority eviscerates the authorities that the government has had for decades to address greenhouse gas pollution from fossil fuels and prevent climate chaos.

I'm on the Senate floor to oppose an increase to our already-bloated defense budget. The coronavirus phase 3 stimulus plan must put American families and workers first. But the plan released by Republicans prioritizes the interests of corporations and shareholders. Here are my priorities as I fight for a package that won’t sell out working people. THREAD: First and foremost, ordinary Americans need direct, immediate, financial assistance. That means far more than the $600 proposed for low-income people. And we need paid sick leave, a moratorium on mortgage payments and evictions, and relief for renters.

1: It allows states across the county to pass their own net neutrality laws. That’s a big win. We will undoubtedly see activists and organizers across the country push their states to enact strong net neutrality rules. I look forward to standing with them in this fight.

Today’s ICE raids are designed for peak cruelty: tear families apart, stoke fear in immigrant communities & throw more people into already overcrowded facilities. Here’s Trump’s vicious manufactured cycle to criminalize immigrants & push an overcrowded system to a breaking point: 1) Refuse to use alternatives to detention programs to release from ICE facilities, create overcrowding
2) Refuse to release on recognizance from CBP facilities at the border, create overcrowding

Rafa is 3. He lives in Boston, is learning to read, and loves going to the @MuseumOfScience. He’s also one of the 130 million Americans with a pre-existing condition who rely on the Affordable Care Act’s protections. But the Trump admin is trying to strip away those protections. Rafa was born with chronic kidney disease and severe bladder issues and spent his first 5 weeks at @BostonChildrens. After a tough fight and a kidney donation from his father, Rafa’s condition is manageable. But he will always have a pre-existing condition.

An FTC investigation into YouTube’s treatment of children online is long overdue. It is no secret that kids flock to YouTube every day, but the company has yet to take the necessary steps to protect its youngest users.

We must open our eyes to the insidious #WebofDeceit that the Koch brothers, in alliance with the Trump administration, are weaving to promote an anti-science, anti-consumer, and anti-renewable energy agenda. Just last week, the Koch brothers bragged to donors in a report that they were responsible for @realDonaldTrump’s policies: repealing the Clean Power Plan, attacking public lands, leaving the Paris Climate Accord and tax giveaways to #BigOil.

More than a year into the Trump administration, we still don’t have:
-a U.S. ambassador to South Korea
-a confirmed assistant secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs
-a Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues
-a Sanctions Coordinator Despite his recent announcement that he would accept a meeting with Kim Jong Un, @realDonaldTrump has systematically undermined the effectiveness of the very agency – the U.S. Department of State – that he will need to make talks successful.
