Corporates in healthcare business is the worst kind of arrangement whether working as a charitable trust or independently.

The board-room creates pressure on doctors to earn more profits for the hospitals.

The fee often increases with the type of room you choose. Once I argued with one of the hospital run under a charitable trust, the bill got reduced by 30% (₹95K). The reason stated was - there was a lack of coordination with the doctor who operated; the size of material used etc.

The client who messaged she can only connect on call after 2 pm because of her engagement on long-call has updated her today's lunch preparation. The accountant who was asked to raise few invoices, said he was in the bank, has checked-in at his relative's house.

@smitaprakash Bholanath Pandey & Devendra Pandey on Dec. 20, 1978 hijacked an Indian Airlines plane on a domestic flight. They demanded the release of Indira Gandhi (who had been arrested after emergency) & withdrawal of all the cases against Sanjay Gandhi. They carried only toy weapons. @smitaprakash After keeping 132 passengers hostage for some hours, they surrendered in the presence of media.

Indian National Congress rewarded them with party tickets for the 1980 state assembly election; both won the election and became members of the legislative assembly of Uttar Pradesh.

So the government banned 59 Chinese apps. Cool. Be happy if you want, but notification is not the end. Already downloaded apps won't stop working by this notification. The government will have to intimate the intent & ask the app stores to disable updates on these apps in India. Well, any idea why is zoom not on the banned list? 😏

For the newer generations used to 160 character count tweets, byte-sized news articles, more acronyms than actual words. For whom expression and communication is more visual than ever, even on written mediums, with emojis, gifs and memes. The ones who forced publishers to mention the minutes required to read an article, right next to the headline, and who choose their dates by just reading a sentence about them. For (all of) them the one-page brief is, in their own acronym – TL;DR (Too Long; Didn’t Read)

In a series of tweets, will share some rare clippings of #JagjitSingh Sb. in a private mehfil in 1976. Originally recorded on audiotapes, arbitrary ripping and multiple conversions thereafter, has made the quality not very fine; use of headphone advisable. Apologies, couldn't post them here due to some constraint. It's available for a limited time; hear, love, listen as early as possible. A humble request, listen to them completely, for there are some extempore comments you would love to listen.

PS: Some of them contains humour.

The longer we live, the more we realize the impact of attitude on our life. Attitude is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... an institution... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.

Management lesson #2

A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy."
"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull.
"They're packed with nutrients."

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.

Management lesson #1

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on it.
1/n
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, it began to realize how warm it was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
