On 8 January 1943, the Sisak II children's concentration camp was shut down.

Established in July 1942 by the Croatian 🇭🇷 Nazi Ustasha regime, over 1,600 Serbian 🇷🇸 & Jewish ✡️ children were murdered there in just 5 months: one of the worst atrocities in modern history.

Vjekoslav "Maks" Luburić 🇭🇷—a name synonymous with Croatian Ustaše savagery.

Luburić was the architect of the Croatian Nazi genocidal machine during WW2, leading the death camps and mass massacres in which more than 700,000 Serbs 🇷🇸 and 30,000 Jews ✡️ were slaughtered.

More than 4,000 Serbian civilians—children, women & men—were massacred by the Nazi occupying forces of the German 🇩🇪 Reich in retaliation for the resistance of the local Chetniks & Partisans.
