145 years ago, in September 1880, Patriarch Varnava (Petar) Rosić ☦️ was born in Pljevlja 🇷🇸

He was the 40th head of the Serbian Orthodox Church from 1930 to 1937.

During WW1, he took part in the Great Serbian Retreat of 1915, reaching Corfu 🇬🇷 along with his people.

He initiated the construction of the edifice of the great Temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade—one of the largest churches in the world.

🧵 25 years ago, in June 2000, soldiers of the NATO “KFOR” occupation force in the Serbian province of Kosovo-Metohija 🇷🇸 discovered more than 6 tonnes of weapons belonging to Albanian terrorists of the so-called “KLA” 🇦🇱 hidden in four bunkers in Klečka near Lipljan.

On 8 January 1943, the Sisak II children's concentration camp was shut down.

Established in July 1942 by the Croatian 🇭🇷 Nazi Ustasha regime, over 1,600 Serbian 🇷🇸 & Jewish ✡️ children were murdered there in just 5 months: one of the worst atrocities in modern history.

Vjekoslav "Maks" Luburić 🇭🇷—a name synonymous with Croatian Ustaše savagery.

Luburić was the architect of the Croatian Nazi genocidal machine during WW2, leading the death camps and mass massacres in which more than 700,000 Serbs 🇷🇸 and 30,000 Jews ✡️ were slaughtered.
