1/ The Kaveri jet engine - a tale of ambition, failure, and lost time.
Started in 1986, it was supposed to power India's Tejas fighter jet. Nearly 40 years later, it still isn't airworthy. Here's why it failed - and why future funding must come with real accountability. 2/ Kaveri's original goal:
Build an indigenous engine to match world-class fighters.
Needed: ~90 kN thrust with afterburner.
What DRDO delivered: ~70-80 kN with major reliability issues.
