I'm out at a Black Lives Matter protest in Westminster this afternoon, right now it is pretty small, but a handful of counter protesters are gathering across the street and the two groups are shouting at each other. I'll keep this thread updated.
Just about 100 people here now at the intersection of Orchard Parkway and 144th, with plans to march somewhere, I believe. The counter protesters have quieted down.

I'm out at the Martin Luther King Jr Library in Aurora, where a group is gathering and preparing to march and drive about 5 miles to Denver's City Park as a protest against police brutality. I'll keep this thread going as the day unfolds.
Just talked with a father daughter pair, Gregory and Abigail Strickland, who plan to walk the whole five miles. "We come from a place of privilege, and you realize that after a while," Gregory said, adding he felt he could no longer stand by without participating.

I'm out at the scene of a shooting with reported multiple victims on West Byers Place. Neighbors say they heard shots and saw people running.
Looks like there was some sort of gathering in this park when the shooting happened, there are overturned chairs and abandoned tables of food and drinks.

Law enforcement and workers are working to clear out the large homeless camp in front of Denver's Capitol building. I've seen Colorado State Patrol here so far. The area is being fenced off.
There was just a conflict between a small group of about 10 people and police, I am not sure if they live here or came from outside to protest. One man was handcuffed after he climbed on a garbage truck apparently in protest of the removal.

This Civil War statue at the Colorado capitol building was knocked over and vandalized last night.
"It was up yesterday and it was down today," said Doug Platt, communications manager at the city's Department of Personnel and Administration, which maintains the grounds and building.

Just got to the Capitol building in Denver to see what is happening now with protesters. There are folks walking around picking up trash, others are scrubbing off graffiti, cars are honking as they pass by. No one seems organized at this point, just milling about. It's hot.
The Capitol building is covered in graffiti like this

The restaurant's posted hours have it opening at 8 a.m., but so far it remains closed. Several customers have tried the door this morning to find it locked.

Per state health officials, confirmed coronavirus cases in Colorado are up to 5,172 cases with 148 deaths. But officials estimate 17,000 to 18,000 people are infected, well beyond those cases confirmed by testing.
Officials say despite national models that predict Colorado has already seen its peak of novel coronavirus cases, state officials are confident the peak is still in the future. They say they put more stock in local modeling.

I'm out in Oakland for the funeral of Pittsburgh police Officer Calvin Hall, who was off duty when he was shot on July 14 in Homewood. He died three days later.
Right now, the auditorium is quiet as officials make the final preparations for the 11 a.m. service -- setting up chairs, adjusting microphones, finding seats.
