In the nineties during that horrible boy-band phase (🤮), a song that jumped out at me was ‘Stay Another Day’ by a 🇬🇧boyband called East 17. Pretty typical love song, but with lush four-voice harmonies and, unusually, no percussion or beat. 1/n Pretty straightforward lyrics, romantic, the pain of a goodbye, all that gooey stuff that becomes part of teenage years. To me it was just that, a mushy boyband pop song about love. I still hum it quite often. 2/n

After Lt Gen-level talks 10 days ago, *token* disengagement had begun - few tents. Last week, a camp that had been removed by Chinese was brought back. 1/n CO & group of men (unarmed) went to the camp to tell Chinese to follow disengagement plan, quickly came under attack with stones. Chinese soldiers assaulted with barbed wire clubs etc. CO grievously hurt, removed immediately. Remaining soldiers surrounded, held by Chinese. 2/n

BIG BREAKING: Indian Army Colonel (Commanding Officer of an infantry battalion) and 2 Army jawans killed in action during a clash with Chinese troops at one of the standoff points in the Galwan Valley, Ladakh.
