Both were married and had four children. Satish was a small farmer while Chanan Pathak used to lift heavy weights in a factory. The main accused Kalu Sahu is a history-sheeter who used to do illegal activities in the farmland of Satish Pathak. In Timri village, there are only two houses of Brahmins. Before this, the accused had insulted the deceased for their caste identity and ancestral work. On the day of the incident, the accused called and attacked them with swords. After kiIIing them, they called four more from their family. Two more died while two are seriously injured.

Just how disastrous the SC ST is Act can be observed from the case which is imposed on the co-founder of Infosys. He is booked now under the SC-ST Act for sacking a Dalit employee in the year 2014. The case is registered against Senapathy ‘Kris’ Gopalakrishnan and 17 others under the SC-ST(Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Now think how a business can flourish in the presence of such draconian and skewed laws. How apprehensive an employer would be about hiring an employee belonging to the SC-ST category after seeing a growing number of such false cases? Instead of uniting Hindus, this act is creating a huge schism in the Hindu society and it is going to alienate one Hindu community from the other.

First of all we have to understand why we are seeing the increasing numbers of SC ST acts in our surroundings? The real answer is the monetary help which is provided by the govt to the person who filed the case. The monetary aid can be up to 8.5 lakhs. While doing an FIR, 25% of the amount is settled into the bank account of the person. 50% when the charge sheet is submitted, and the remaining 25% upon conviction.

As per the rules, Financial Assistance is provided in the bank accounts of the Victim or Family/Dependent of the Victim.

If you believe there is a possibility of being falsely charged, it's important to report your side of the story to the police first. Want to know how to do this? Read the next tweet. For example, if you have a dispute with your neighbour and he is threatening you with the act then don't wait for the tragedy to happen but act first. Open the website of your state police and register an online complaint against the person. Elaborate how he is threatening you with the act. If possible also register an offline complaint. Secondly, try to keep evidence with you. For example, put your mobile on recording while speaking to the person who is threatening you. Install CCTVs in your house or office. One of my friends was saved because he had installed CCTV outside his home. The FIR was quashed by the High Court. In one case, a whole family was booked for the murder of a DaIit who committed suicide inside the premises of the family. They got saved from the CCTV footage.

I went to the Kumbha by a Train. It is nearly impossible to book tickets for Prayagraj as there are rarely any seats left. I tried booking the tickets in Tatkal from three different accounts. Also, book your tickets in advance for the return journey. From the station, you have to take an E rickshaw which will charge you 30-40 Rs per person. From the point where they leave you, Sangam and Kumbha Mela are around 3 km away. Hotels in nearby areas are very expensive. In Kumbha, you have to pay a good amount to stay in any tent. I was staying in an accommodation given by Shree Shakti Peeth, Varanasi for no cost. It is situated in sector 18 of the Kumbha. If possible try to come and return in a single day.
