So yesterday I was told outside by my (unmasked) friend that COVID is here to stay. We can’t hide away from it, missing out on life.
It came with a smile I took to be saying that I need to accept this, come to terms with it, to stop being so determined to avoid infections.
1/5 🧵 A few hours later I was told, by the same friend I’d met outside, by text, that a former very close acquaintance who had not been living in any ‘kind of fear’, exactly my age, had died at the weekend after having suffered “chest infections”, pneumonia and a heart attack.

The author of this piece from the UKHSA is “Blog Editor”. I can see why nobody wants to put their name to it.

For the SARS2 aware community this is gaslighting, it makes you question your sanity.
But for the general public this is disinformation.
1/ 🧵 ukhsa.blog.gov.uk/2024/01/03/a-p… The blog says it’s to inform about common illnesses. This is framing COVID as an illness like the flu or measles. But SARS-CoV-2 is a Hazard Group 3 pathogen, a different level to the other illnesses mentioned, it’s the same level as TB or HIV! It’s being minimised as common.

Getting a bit bored of all this negativity towards the raging SARS2 pandemic. It’s depressing. There are lots of positives, and as there’s no chance of this ending anytime soon, let’s cheer up:
1/ 🧵 If you’re a robber (and as a robber, you often wear a mask) your victims are going to get slower and slower with each infection. It’s hard to run away when your vascular system, heart and lungs are shot to hell. So that’s good (if you’re a robber)

So I’ve been thinking about the latest poll in the UK showing half the population would like mask mandates (but hardly anyone wears one themselves) and how people who do wear N95s get called sheep; what a mischaracterization that is!
I’ve been thinking about the farm:
1/🧵 Sheep.
If nearly half the population would like the government to mandate masks in various public settings but these same people won’t wear a mask themselves because they don’t want to look odd amongst their peers, what does that make them?
They’re the sheep.

I’ve been thinking about peoples rights in this SARS2 pandemic. They’re not being communicated clearly so to help the public I thought I’d provide some clarification.

⚠️ sardonic

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
1/ 🧵 You have the right to visit a friend or relative in a care home, unmasked and infectious and spread SARS2 amongst the elderly community there.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

Here’s the thing. Your government is formally advising you what you should be doing. They’re not shouting about it, they don’t want the masses to actually know about it. They want them carrying on like it’s 2019
But they are advising the few who still do that ‘thinking’ stuff!
🧵 In the USA the CDC “recommends that vaccinated and unvaccinated people wear masks in public indoor settings when the COVID risk to your community is high”.

The risk is high. It’s never stopped being high! Here’s a link:

OK SARS2 conscious people I’ve been thinking, about what’s actually going on right now, with people we know. Why we seem to be living in different realities.
So this is a bizarre thread, not for everyone, but any help with my two questions would be appreciated.
1/ 🧵 They’re not worried
They’re not feeling any strong emotions whatsoever, certainly not fear. Just going about their day.
Then there’s this one person they know shouting “there’s danger, to yourself, to everyone, you must take action, now”

I think another piece of the puzzle (as to why people are taking no precautions whatsoever to help prevent SARS2 infections) is that most people have a poor imagination.
1/n 🧵 Most people can’t imagine that their current good health could be taken away in an instant so easily. There’s an expectation that their current health is normal somehow. It’s unimaginable that this could all be taken away FOREVER, and how miserable they’d be if it was.

So they want us to accept that our lives are now going to be much shorter and sicker than they were until 2019. That our bodies are going to be repeatedly infected with SARS2. That this is how it is now and we have to “live with it”, just ACCEPT IT.
1/ 🧵 They’ve changed the official baseline numbers to reflect this as a new normal. Expected deaths are now to be higher, expected lifespans shorter. The numbers incapable of working due to sickness are to keep increasing. This is our new normal. It’s officially all OK. ACCEPT IT.

So I remembered something that happened to me decades ago. I think it could almost be a parable, why a certain personality type is behaving re SARS2 infections (maybe our own Governments too), and how this will end.
1/ 🧵 My MIL came to visit, she was absolutely lovely but a strong character, wilful, stubborn. At evening I said you can go anywhere, but don’t touch the back door, it has a vibration sensor, you’ll set off the alarm.

So doctor, why aren’t you wearing a respirator when meeting your patients in person in an airborne pandemic of the SARS-Cov-2 virus?

A little thread
1/
Is it because wearing respirators doesn’t work to reduce transmission of airborne viruses and that official public health bodies are saying they aren’t necessary to prevent Long Covid?

Nope it’s not that

I’ve been looking for a paradigm that better ‘fits’ the two pandemic responses I’m seeing. A minority wearing masks, researching ways to lower prevalence, screaming that ignoring SARS2 is foolish, and the majority acting like it’s 2019.
I think I’ve found something
🧵 1/ Sensitivity, particularly sensitivity to environmental stimuli.
Studies suggest circa 30% of people are highly sensitive (applies to animals too), the other 70% are resistant to changing behaviour as circumstances change.
This paper is fascinating:

Some people in the SARS2 aware communities overseas keep asking me to help them find the correct words to use in King’s English to describe aspects of the pandemic response. So I’ve collated their questions and this thread is just to help them out.
#IgnoreMe
🧵1/7 “How should I describe public health not telling the general public that SARS2 is an airborne virus, and that wearing a respirator type mask (and only that type of mask) might help protect them from infection, disability and death?”

Oh that’s called attempted MURDER.

If you write/tweet often enough eventually you’ll find your voice.

I think I might be finding mine, it’s a voice utterly pissed off with my species.

So here’s a thread of misanthropy laced with depression that I’d suggest you ignore.

🧵 1/5 If I took the tablets my doctor wants me to take I’d probably start thinking humans were ok.

But I’m not taking them, because I don’t want to be so utterly mistaken.

A thread of four RAGE tweets about covid, on the theme of husbands who’ve moved ‘beyond covid’ now and are living their ‘best lives’ regardless of their partners mask wearing and clearly expressed desire that they don’t want to be repeatedly infected with covid.

🧵 1/5 Busy day at the office? Don’t neglect your loved ones. While having a quick pint on the way home you can pick up some covid to give them and show them how much you love them.
