1/2Having seen people with DID in practice, 2 things are most striking to me in the #LeteciaStauchtrial.
1. She functions without major loss in functioning (her poor relationship and job history is personality disorder related, not dissociative in nature. 2/2 2. Her lack of distress as the “host” in knowing about these alters. People with DID are in distress. They are tortured by this diagnosis. It is not “cool” for them to talk about. They are deeply disturbed by alter behaviors that are deviant from the host.
