Someone I know is on a whirlwind cruise and series of tours in Europe. They’re seeing so much but they’re are seeing fuck all. Three hours in Florence. THREE HOURS. They took pictures of the outside of the cathedral because they don’t have time to see inside. And a meal? NOPE.
People do this shit and they’re like “but I’ll never get to see those places again, so…”
Yeah, well, you arguably didn’t see them this time either, so hey. Two for two.
It’s ITALY. Know how you travel in Italy? Eat here, walk there, sit there, drink, eat, drink, ad nauseum.

My cherry tomatoes are shrivelling and angry. It seems like a great day to make a pizza bianca and cook 'em on some pizza dough.
This is my pizza dough recipe. It lives on the side of my fridge.

Woke up to another two client assignments this morning. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this lately but the CAD dollar collapsed & I lost my job all in the first 3 months of going nomad — starting a terrifying year for me financially as I survived on $1200-1400/mo for over a year.
The lesson I learn that year was to diversify my income. Never let once source of money become more than 30% of my income at once.
Somehow, that hard year prepared me well for what we’re all facing now.
I’m still working — for now. And doing well — for now.

I'm finding myself very sad and upset about the earthquake in Albania. It was in Tirana I had my hysterectomy. And I don't know the last time you had a major organ removed over 10,000KM from everyone you know, in a country that speaks one of the world's most archaic languages...
...But I'lltell you, you rely on the people in that country when you have an eight-week recovery period with no friends or family to help.
Albanians never let me down.
Not once was I cheated in Albania, not once did I feel taken advantage of.
Do you know how RARE that is?

A nomad friend just posted a Facebook video of one of the most disgusting AirBNBs I've ever seen, down in Tonga. And just like that, Thanksgiving takes a whole new twist on me. I'm SO THANKFUL for a home.
In my first month as a nomad, I spent 3 days trying to get the landlord to agree to give me my money back on my beautiful AirBNB apartment that suddenly had a cockroach infestation (the space was AMAZING, but they came in from another suite on my third day & doubled daily).

Getting real tired of people who don't understand that climate change is about more than just temperature. Weather patterns are changing, and it's killing people. The Dengue Fever outbreak in Southeast Asia is killing thousands this year and it's not going to stop. /1
But mosquitoes aren't weather, you say. Did you know that mosquito eggs can hatch in just a thimble / bottlecap full of water? That's all it takes to hatch dormant eggs. The great thing about the tropics was they had a dry season followed by the beautiful stormy wet season. /2
