I can no longer find it, but I just saw a TikTok where a therapist explained that the reason men are always surprised when their unhappy wives leave them is because they've been brought up to EXPECT her to be unhappy. Now I can't stop seeing the 'unhappy wife' trope everywhere. The whole 'my wife is always nagging' stand-up thing, Married with Children, Simpsons, men being 'in the dog house'... I recently tried to find a sign for my shed and they ALL say 'This is where the MAN can get away from that NAGGING BITCH'...
