@ShyamSPrasad Mysore joined the Union as subdominion which would be ruled by Maharaja as Raj Pramukh. This was the same with some other states too. Raja of Gwalior formed a union of smaller princely states to which he was Raj Pramukh.
Finally a different arrangement was accepted in 1950 @ShyamSPrasad That was according to constituent assembly where administrative powers would reduce for King but he would continue as Raj Pramukh. This continued till 1956. (in simple words)
This doesn't mean He 'did not' join the Union.
Mysurians wanted to be a part of Indian Union always.
