I’m at the age where most of my peers are starting families and moving to towns and cities that will suit their professional & parenting lives. It’s also the age where relatives no longer care much about what I do for a living but curious about when “I’ll settle down”.

[cont…] Their idea of settling down involves kids & a significant other. They’ve seen you bloom in your career, buy cars, property etc. When you think you’ve met all their silly expectations, stability becomes the subject. Some will even brazenly tell you, time is against you.

I must say.

This thread right here, opened up my world. I tweeted this out of curiosity in 2021 and boy I wasn’t ready for the number & caliber of people I’d engage in my DMs days, weeks and months later.

16 months later, I packed my bags & left SA & I’ve never been happier.❤️
