EUROPEAN COMMISSION TO CONSTRUCT EUR 347.6 MILLION GREEN BRT

Kenya and the European Commission have reached a EUR 347.6 million financing agreement for the construction of the first dedicated electric bus rapid lane in East Africa. The agreement was reached during a meeting between President @WilliamsRuto and President of the European Commission @vonderleyen at the European Union Commission headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

NEW FERTILISER VARIETY PROMISES HIGHER FARM YIELDS

Food production is poised to increase following the launch of a new fertiliser variety.
 
Referred to as Fertiplant, the farm input is said to be soil-specific and tailor-made to suit crop nutrient requirements. This means different areas in Kenya will have distinct blends of fertilisers that fit their needs.

GOVERNMENT DOUBLES NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE INTAKE TO 20,000 A YEAR

President @WilliamsRuto has directed the Ministries of Defence and Interior and National Administration to allocate at least 30 per cent of their vacancies to the National Youth Service (NYS) recruits. He said the move is aimed at ensuring that the skills acquired by the servicemen and women is put to meaningful use.

Also directed to absorb the servicemen are the ministries of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage.

WOMEN ENTERPRISE FUND GOES DIGITAL

Women will now access cheaper loans in a new Government plan aimed at advancing financial inclusion in the country.
