1. For the longest time I've wanted someone to do a tweet thread on one of the most enduring music-critic parlor games of the 2010s: “Is Charli XCX a pop star?”

I now realize that person is me.

Let’s start in 2013. Back then, Charli was a pop star but not adequately huge. 2. But by 2014, we were like, “Hold your horses! Is Charli XCX actually a pop star in the first place? Let’s finally settle this rationally!”
