Food banks have become a sloppy solution for poverty. They do not solve poverty. And that's not even their role. There's business behind food banks. Grocery stores get a tax break for donating old food they cannot sell. 2. Produce that is often not fresh or even edible, non-perishables that are filled with additives and preservatives, like sugar and salt, that are unhealthy. Food that doesn't taken into account intolerances or allergies or special diets.
